A new shape to my ambition

I’m being paid to write ! How amazing is that ?

A few years ago, I did a little work for the Hundred House Hotel at Norton to help keep their blog up to date. It was quite adhoc, and my words were happily exchanged for Sunday Lunch Vouchers ( a delicious alternative to money!). Doing this work, and the encouragement from family, friends and the team at the Hundred House gave me enough confidence to consider that my feeling that I was a reasonably good writer might be true. I began studying with OCA, and over the next couple of years, the blog work slowed down, and my learning sped up. I’ve developed my skills, and most importantly developed confidence in my ability to create a decent piece of prose.

Hard work has paid off, and I’m proud to be part of an exciting new project documenting the re-invigoration of the Hundred House, and to be part of the team going forward. It’s not a full time job by any means ( I still can’t manage more than a few hours a week), but it is a great opportunity to continue my development in a new environment. It’s an amazing feeling to be almost working again, even if it is just for a small amount of time. I shall still be studying, and still writing poetry and stories, which will test my organisation skills; having to plan each and every activity to the last detail does have it’s advantages after all.  Hopefully if I save well, and don’t buy shoes, the money I earn will go towards my OCA fees. Or shoes.
I get to combine my three favourite things, cooking, gardening and writing. I honestly feel like the luckiest person in the world.
